This threshold serves two purposes: preventing endless loops and making
it possible for the list owner to prevent "surprise" flame fests from
getting out of hand. Because of the first purpose, LISTSERV can't free
the list automatically after a day without running the risk of restarting
the loop. If that behaviour is really necessary, it is not difficult for
the LISTSERV maintainer to add a daily event to WAKEPARM FILE with 'FREE
listname'. The maintainer should probably be notified if you decide to
free the list on a regular basis (unless you meant once a week, in which
case it is no big deal).
