I've got a curious little problem here...  Does LISTSERV rewrite
posters' From: addresses according to where a recipient is?
 
If it does, I think the UBVM LISTSERV may be referencing an outdated
UUCP map entry for 'teraluna', and plugging in a now-nonexistent
domain name.  If LISTSERV can't do this, then I need to figure out
whether 'rutgers' or 'pucc' are the culprit.
 
Here's what I'm seeing.  The following two headers are from two
received copies of a message I sent to [log in to unmask]  I have a test
address subscribed to the list, under two different addresses;

This first header was received on the copy of the message which was
sent to (I'm guessing) [log in to unmask]:

See the 'teraluna.mlb.fl.us' domain name?  This machine hasn't been
registered in that domain since October '91.  Is it possible
LISTSERV is sending that out to all domain-named recipients?  If so,
some of my list members must be having an awfully hard time writing
to me.  Does anyone know for sure if LISTSERV actually does this kind
of rewriting?
 
If it's not LISTSERV, then it's got to be something at PUCC or
Rutgers, since those are the only things that seem to be unique to
this message...

No rewriting on that one; I'm guessing because either:
 
(1) The destination had a bang path in it, so LISTSERV kept the
    bang-path From: format.(?)
 
(2) This one didn't go through PUCC or Rutgers.
 
Has anyone had anything like this happen, or know of anything else
that might provide some insight?
 
I've written to the postmasters at PUCC and Rutgers; PUCC denies the
possibility and Rutgers hasn't answered.
