Thanks to everyone who replied to my post about my subscriber(Marc Y.) who
received a flood of archived messages. As a follow-up, here is the apparent
explanation.I have deleted the name of the person who wrote Marc.
Cheers, Pat

Subject: Flood of Archived Messages

A few days ago you asked about a flood of old messages that suddenly
appeared in your mailbox. You only got 180; I got 633!

Here's what happened .... The mail system at Telerama was configured to
use a backup mail server at Duquesne U. when the main server at Telerama
was overloaded. Unfortunately, messages that went to the backup server
starting in mid-November weren't being sent to Telerama. Someone either
at Telerama or Duquesne did something that caused the backup server to
start working through it's queue of old messages.
