The  LISTSERV monitor  was just  changed to  poll all  servers every  day
instead of every 3 days (to get  more accurate data on weekday vs weekend
traffic). Because of this change and of  a major IP outage in the US, the
US sites that had  been polled today, a few hours  before the change, but
whose answer had not arrived when the change was made, are all being told
that the monitor was unable to  contact their server and that they should
check  things carefully.  These messages  can be  safely ignored  and, in
principle, should not occur again.  I knew about the connectivity outage,
but had just assumed  it had occurred after the daily  job; it turned out
this was a very long outage.
