thanks, eric.  you didn't mention anything about how to time the merger
with the update distribution.  would you advise making the BITEARN NODES
change before or simultaneous with the merge?  what would happen if
i made your recommended BITEARN NODES change and then had to leave
the two nodes unmerged for a few days/weeks?
