My only concern about meeting the 2 week deadline is guaranteeing that
the person being sent the update won't be on vacation longer than that.
What is needed is a deputy who receives notice of updates if not the
updates themselves.  (At some sites it may be feasible for the deputy to
obtain the updates from the primary maintainer's reader, but this is not
necessarily true at every site.)  The general idea sounds right, except
for this problem.
