Web Archives on a Different Server?

I know that the manual says that putting the web archives on a server other than the ListServ server is not supported.  But can it be done, even if it is not supported?

What we want to achieve is having the web archives on an Intranet web server while the ListServ server remains in the public DMZ.  Are there any tricks for accomplishing this?
