That would help eliminate people reviewing lists to accumulate email
addresses, however my real question was about web agents which simply scan
web pages looking for text files which might be email addresses.
I believe that listserv does offer some protection against these type of
robot scripts but was hoping for a definitive reply re. what the wa.exe
script actually does in this case.

One way, to at least make this very difficult is to make subscriptions
require confirmation if its open subscription. If the list has closed
subscription, then it becomes very difficult.
