I am looking for a LISTSERV sponsor willing to host a mailing list dealing
with string figures. It would be open to everyone but I suspect most of
the traffic would involve members of The International String Figure
Association,
a group of 117 people from all over the world with a strong interest in
string figures. Fifty-seven of the members have e-mail addresses and I
believe a number of them would participate in a mailing list group.

Here is description of our organization from our web site
(http://www.iquest.net/~webweavers/isfa.htm).
"The International String Figure Association (ISFA) was founded in 1978 by
Hiroshi Noguchi, a Japanese mathematician, and Philip Noble, an Anglican
missionary stationed in Papua New Guinea. ISFA is a small, not-for-profit
organization funded solely by membership dues and private donations. The
primary goal of ISFA is to gather, preserve, and distribute string figure
knowledge so that future generations will continue to enjoy this ancient
pastime."

We distribute several publications each year including an annual bulletin
indexed by Sociological Abstracts.
I don't normally follow the LISTSERV discussion groups so I would
appreciate a reply to my personal mailbox.

Sincerely, Will Wirt
