I can confirm it.  I see enough broken lame mailers that don't believe
that RFC1123 says that you *must* support the SMTP 'MAIL FROM:<>' that
I've set up a canned message to forward the bounced mail to the
postmaster and the intended user, explaining *why* the person can't
subscribe because their site is broken.

If it wasn't for exmh, mh 6.8.4, and procmail, I'd never get any
work done.. ;)
