Is the list set to Send= Public ? A better choice might be Send= Private so
that msgs from non-subscribers are rejected immediately. Then the msgs won't
hang around as .JOBH files. If you really need to allow Send= Public for some
reason, then try
Send= Public,Confirm,non-member
This will allow subscriber msgs to be posted immediately, msgs from
non-subscribers, must first be self-confirmed, if they are legitimate. If not
legitimate then they are spam which will never be confirmed and will be
discarded after a few days. In either case the msg will be in the ~\MAIN
directory as a LISTNAME.OKxxxxx file awaiting the OK/confirmation, not
sitting in the ~\SPOOL awaiting the temp hold

Not lost at all. The 10 minute spam-check temp hold is a documented feature.
In other words, LISTSERV is working normally.
