Hello all, I'm hoping someone here has some experience that can help me.

We have LISTSERV 14.4 running on a Sun 240 with Solaris 9 and Sendmail
8.13.6.  LISTSERV is the only thing this box does (so no e-mali is
generated from any other application).  A small percentage (less than
1%) of the mail gets put in the queue with these errors in the qf
files:

   mailer prog died with signal 4

   Deferred: prog mailer (/bin/sh) exited with EX_TEMPFAIL

I've never seen any of these messages in that queue longer than 20
minutes - usually they get delivered the next pass that sendmail makes
on that queue.  But some people on campus (that think e-mail should be
an IM application :-) are starting to complain.  Can anyone point me to
a solution for this situation?
