This is not a new problem, and I don't know what the exact cause is, but
since there were other problems (CRC checks) in the OHSTVMA and the OHST
folks were working on it, at first I just discarded the nastygrams. But
after 2 months I feel I have to report this problem again. I am
consistently unable to reach hosts downstream OHSTVMA via DISTRIBUTE
jobs: the file reaches their LISTSERV garbled, not from time to time but
each and every time I send a PEERS NAMES update. This is a rather common
occurence with old or buggy versions of RSCS when the list processor is
used. The problem could be at OHSTVMA, or it could be at the sites
getting the garbled data - I am not pointing fingers at anyone. The
bottom line, however, is that people at these sites may be losing a
significant amount of mail.
