Thank you Eric for your concise answer.  Can you expound a bit?
How is it fixed?  Are banners converted to quoted-printable?  Is
there now are way to differentiate these messages like there is
for plaintext and HTML email.  Are these messages silently
converted to plain ASCII?

Most importantly however...  Where do I get a copy of 1.8e?  Just
checked ftp.lsoft.com and didn't see it anywhere.
