Dear People,
The "Hayao Miyazaki Discussion Group" list <nausicaa@brownvm> now
has a fileserver from which anyone (even non-subscribers) can retrieve
weekly archives and long files (like scripts). In the case of the long
files, consider this as list nausicaa's "FTP site."

Procedure for file retrieval is simple and almost immediate for
Bitnet users, who use syntax like "tell listserv at brownvm get CASTLCAG
SCRIPT nausicaa". For Internet folks, the procedure is to send e-mail to
<[log in to unmask]> and make the message read "get CASTLCAG
SCRIPT nausicaa".

Here are some common listserv commands you might want to use:

*****"signoff <your@address>" (this will unsubscribe you from this list)

*****"help get" (this will send you a help file on how to use "get" on
listserv)

*****"review nausicaa" (this will send you a list of all the current list
subscribers)

*****"get nausicaa list" (this will send you a list of all the available
long files and weekly archives from Nausicaa Filelist)

*****"get <filename> <filetype> nausicaa" (this will send you a file
from "nausicaa filelist," i.e. a weekly archive or a long file. An
example would be "get SHUNABY PARAGRAF nausicaa".)

BELOW IS AN EXAMPLE OF WHAT THE NAUSICAA FILELIST LOOKS LIKE:

Notice that the information at the right cuts off. To see the rest
of the file, type "right 30" on your command line. (To return to where
you started, type "left 30".) [When you use the "get nausicaa list"
command yourself, you will get a copy of the filelist that will become
visible in its *entirety* once you type "right 30," (unlike the truncated
copy used in the example above).]

The archives are broken down into weeks. Their filetype is actually
a code: after "LOG," the first two numbers are the year, the second two
numbers are the month, and the letter (A, B, C, or D) is the week.

Well, now you know. If you ever accidentally zap something from
your files that you got from the nausicaa list -- and you really wanted
to keep it, you can go in and get a new copy. If you decide you *do*
want those LUPIN III episodes #145 and #155 TV scripts after all, you
can get them anytime! Have fun. It's there for *you*; feel free to
use it. 8)

Well, that's the proposed message which will be sent out on my list
if no one here thinks it's overly byzantine.
Oh, one more thing: I'm having trouble figuring out how to update/
replace a file in my filelist. How do I replace the previous file while
keeping all the files presently in the filelist *in the same order*?
