Looking at it differently, the sublist archives may be incomplete, because
superlist distributions are not stored in the sublist archives. (One
person's feature is another's failing).

Topics, super/sublists, and subscribing lists can all be reasonable,
depending on the circumstances.  In our limited experience, we've seen that
people understand lists subscribed to other lists more easily than they
understand super/sub lists, but lists subscribed to lists will cause more
problems (some mentioned by Pete & Paul).  (Don't call me Mary) ;-)
