I'm only guessing here but are you running it on a Windows box?  If so then
you're out of luck.  Windows doesn't do multi-threading very well unless
you've got a dual processor machine.  It's only capable of running one
service at a time for each processor that it has available.  Note that you'd
also have to upgrade your operating system to take advantage of two
processors (which is *very* expensive :(.

You may have better luck if you're on *nix but I'm no expert there.  Anyone
else have some idea?
