This file is an addendum to the original description of changes from
release 1.6b to 1.6c. In order to obtain the current description of the
changes from release 1.6b to 1.6c, you should search the LSTSRV-M
archives for all items with a subject starting with "Changes from Release
1.6b to 1.6c".

affected Description of the problem
-------- --------------------------
All Infinite loop in LSVDIST2 for some (rare) types of invalid
            RFC822 headers. Fixed.

All LISTSERV fails to logoff if spool becomes full while DIST2 is
in progress, causing possible loss of data. Fixed.

* Recovery Enhancement: Updates to R/O copy of BITEARN NODES *
**************************************************************

>With release 1.6c, the minidisk containing BITEARN NODES is re-accessed
>every time the file needs to be read, unless it is a R/W minidisk (in
>which case this would be superfluous) or it is accessed with an
>extension mode (as in 'ACCESS 1A3 C/C * NODES C' - LISTSERV does not
>know which files were originally selected, and can therefore not
>re-ACCESS the disk in a transparent way).

For minidisks accessed with an extension mode, a user exit can be
provided by the installation to execute the necessary command. This exit
must be named LSV$ACCx (where 'x' is the mode of the disk in question)
and contain the required ACCESS command. In the above example, LISTSERV
would look for a LSV$ACCC EXEC and, if found, call it rather than display
an error message; this exec could contain the following 3 lines:

/* User-exit to re-access our local C-disk */
Address '' 'ACCESS 1A3 C/C * NODES C'
Exit rc

* Documentation: Minor changes to Installation Guide *
******************************************************

Minor changes have been made to the Installation Guide, in order to
update the list of supported operating system components, to reflect the
new recommended storage size of 3M, etc. Since these changes are
irrelevant to sites already running LISTSERV, the 2268-lines LISTINST
MEMO will not be included in the release 1.6c update shipment.

Additionally, some changes have been made to the License Agreement to
reflect the present status of the availability of LISTSERV to EARN sites.
Although these changes are irrelevant to sites which already obtained a
free license, for legal reasons any update to the License Agreement must
be notified to the recipient of the license, and there will therefore be
an updated LISTCPRT MEMO in the release 1.6c shipment.
