You're not creating  any major problem by removing a  SIGNUP FILE entry -
just  some inconvenience  for the  user if  he is  "still alive".  If the
userid is hone but still has mail forwarding set up, chances are that the
user won't logon  and send SUBSCRIBE commands, so you  can safely dispose
of his SIGNUP entry.
