If your LISTSERV offers uuencoding as an option, your uuencoder software is in
all likelihood grossly out of date. The encoding is done by the module named
PDUTIL, which I wrote, but have neglicted because I never really believed
uuencoding a very useful option for LISTSERV. At any rate, and that aside,
there are two problems with that encoder:

   1. It uses an old, now nonstandard, uuencoding format.
   2. It incorrectly encodes any file in which the record length is not
       exactly 128 byes.

The first problem is a minor annoyance for some, but the second is an
out-and-out show stopper for the ever increasing number of people trying to be
creative after being forced to the Internet-side of networking.

An updated version of PDUTIL is available from [log in to unmask] PDUTIL MODULE
is the updated replacement for the module of the same name you presently have;
complete program source (with updates suitable for VMFASM) is available by
getting the PDUTIL PACKAGE (which also includes the module).

My apologies for the inconveniences the old PDUTIL may have caused.
