Dear Mailing List:

The functional programming mailing list is currently discussing its
reorganization. Currently, this list is distributed via several
cross-connected, hand-coded mail deamons in the Arpanet, the Janet
and the European Internet, but the organizational problems become
unmanageable.

There is a strong vote for replacing this list by an USENET newsgroup,
but I'm not happy with that, because I can't access newsgroups. They
agreed that they would perhaps run a mailing list in parallel for those
who can't read newsgroups, but only if this didn't cause too much
trouble.

LISTSERV is a good candidate for low-trouble mailing lists. However, I
have no idea if any software exists for connecting a LISTSERV-based
list to an USENET newsgroup in both directions. Could you please
inform me about any software / experience / problems doing this?

Many thanks in advance for your help!
