While I appreciated all the discussion (and Eric's comments) on the
changes in bitnet, my needs are the mechanics required to actually
leave bitnet from a listserv maintenance standpoint. While not
official, TCU will probably be leaving BITNET at the beginning of
our budget year in June.

We have already gone thru the pains of changing all our email addresses
to internet styple (via NEWNODE). Since we have TCPIP working along
side RSCS and LISTSERV/LMAIL already work with both, it would appear
that I dont really have much to do. Most listserv subscribers already
use an internet address and the few bitnet address can be deleted
either manually or let listserv delete them.

My question are in terms of any listserv or list header parm that
should be changed to smooth out the process? I keep seeing references
to LISTSERV-NJE vs LISTSERV-TCPIP. Do we need to switch versions? Are
they the same?

It would be really nice to have LSOFT produce a guide to help folks
smooth the process of leaving bitnet. While I can keep our lists
running aok, I am by no means a quru in listserv maintenance.

Thanks a bunch .... and Eric, keep up the good work.
