For those of you who may not be aware of it yet, there is a SHARE
committee actively working on a white paper on the ASCII/EBCDIC
translation problem.  It is chaired by Ed Hart, [log in to unmask]  I will
forward Jim's comments to him.  The time frame is a draft by august
and formal presentation in Anaheim nest spring which is really quite
short for a project of this magnitude.  Anyone interested in getting
actively involved with the effort should contact Ed directly.  For
starters he has a little survey form he'd like any site with
problems in this area to complete.  /June
