} But Paul, the problem is that MCI says they will not fix the problem.
} They are not interested in our complaints - we're not customers, so why
} bother?

If you send mail with multiple recipients at MCI, the whole thing will
bounce if any one of the recipients can't receive mail for some reason.
And you can't even tell from the bounce which recipient it was.

When challenged, with references to where they violate explicit language
in RFC822 (and amending RFCs), MCI insists that they have the correct
behaviour, and refuse to fix it. This dates back years.

They have their own ideas how mail should work, and won't let a trifling
thing like standards get in the way.

A number of the Internet mailing list operators have tried various
workarounds, and none of them have worked reliably. Many of the larger
list owners have eventually abandoned all MCIMail recipients for just
this reason.

} To me it looks like the only way to make them listen to the
} complaint is to show them that they will lose business unless they become
} more reasonable. If MCI customers are no longer able to access a mailing
} list, they will receive reduced service from MCI and may consider
} switching to a competitor, such as AOL. If we could somehow bar
} *@MCIMAIL.COM from all mailing lists for an entire week, I bet things
} would be fixed in no time with a long and formal apology.

Indeed. MCI mail subscribers shouldn't be complaining to us, they should
be complaining to MCI. We've tried complaining. Didn't work. Maybe
having real live customers complaining will.
