FYI /Eric
----------------------------Original message----------------------------
We recently saw a problem with LISTSERV on VM/HPO release 5, and I thought
I'd pass along the solution to you in case others have the same problem. I
am not on LISTSRV-L, so I don't know if the problem has already been discussed
there.
The problem is that after a while the RDR command always returns code 36, and
LISTSERV is unable to distinguish Netdata files from RFC822 files. Netdata
gets treated as plain text and, of course, is invalid. The source of the
problem seems to be one or more spool files in the LISTSERV reader queue with
an in-use flag left on. The solution is VM29946. It has a lengthy list of
prerequisites: VM308440 (8804), VM29982 (8804), VM30661 (8803),
VM30573 (8804), VM31846 (8806), VM32339, VM33075, VM31258. We have been
running with these fixes for about 4 hours, and no problems have yet been
noted (grin).
Hope this is useful to somebody.
