We have an Anti-spam solution on our mail gateway and we simply just pointed the MX record for our Listserv server to go there and then told the gateway that anything that is addressed to our listserv to deliver to the listserv server. It does scan the messages for Spam as well as viruses. I would say that it cut our load by 90%. If you have any questions about this setup just let me know and I can go more in depth if needed.

Subject: spam question

How do people handle SPAM being sent to the LISTSERV server?
Is there any way to just turn off "INVALID COMMAND" response
messages from the LISTSERV. 99.999% of these outgping messages are
responses to SPAM from forged e-mail addresses and not INVALID
LISTSERV commands.

Thanks for any ideas.
