We're in the process of buying Listserv HPO, since we're contemplating
some large local lists (though nothing like 100-200K subscribers!).

But I'm curious whether HPO will help with another bottleneck: we have
several very active (approaching 100 posts per day) lists, with archives
going back for years. These archives are searched almost as often as
they're posted to (and since posts are frequent, most searches require
reindexing the current log). When a search is going on, Listserv seems to
stop doing anything else, as seen in the listserv log, until it returns
the results. This wasn't particularly noticeable to users before the web
interface, but it sure is now. Does Listserv HPO behave any differently
than classic with regard to archive searches?

This is on unix, btw. Would we see any difference in searches on NT/2000?
Thanks,

Jean Snow
