I have some users who are trying to get on lists which now require
a confirmation to start the subscription.

The two lists are HEPROC-L@AUVM
           and DIET@UBVM

They get a mail message telling them to send "ok", and they receive
a reply saying their confirmation code is invalid. (This code being
the one that is still in the subject header from an automatic RICEMAIL
supplied subject in a replied message). So they then follow the instructions
again, only this time keying the "ok 037B96" code. Here is the reply
they get . . .

> ok 037B96
The confirmation code you gave (037B96) does not correspond to any pending
command, either because you did not confirm the command in time or because
you mistyped the confirmation code. Check the confirmation request again to
make sure you typed the code exactly as it was shown. If you lost it, just
issue the command again to get a new code.

But here is the original message asking for the confirmation:

Your command:

                        SUBSCRIBE HEPROC-L Gary Warner

has been received. You must now reply to this message (as explained below)

(stuff deleted . . . )

With most mail programs, you can confirm the command by simply using the
"reply" function, without including the original text, and typing "ok"
(without the quotes) as the text of your message. Just "ok" - do not retype
the command or anything else. If this does not work, you will receive an
error message. In this case, send "ok 037B96" instead, using the same
procedure with which you sent the command you are now asked to confirm. In
other words, with most mail programs you will only need to type "ok", but if
you are unlucky you may have to retype the confirmation code as well.

Can someone give me some help here?
