There are two variables in the LISTSERV site profile, LSV$PROF EXEC on
listserv's "A" disk.  they are the maximum size to be used for 1) MAIL
and 2) FILES.  Update this file and reload LISTSERV...
 
the following is an extract from my LSV$PROF EXEC file...  I just
changed MAILMAXL from 500 to 1000 so that the ARPA digests wouldn't
bounce
 
------------------------------------------------------------------------
 
   FILEMAXL is the maximum number of lines for a REDIST-type file.
 
   MAILMAXL is the maximum number of lines for a MAIL-type file.
 
 filemaxl = 10000
 mailmaxl = 1000
