One thing that usually helps keep OOO messages from the list is to set

Sender= None

in the List Header.  This prevents the Sender: header (normally contains the
List-Address) from List messages that go through LISTSERV, leaving just the
From: field as the address most likely to send the OOO message to instead of
the List-Address.  But nothing is perfect, so the List Owner may still need to
be vigilant and occasionally take some action.
