In order to do some routine server maintenance on Friday I stopped the
listserv process. After completing the maintenance, I tried to restart
listserv as a background process but it fails to start. I looked at the log
file and it gives me the following:

Why does it give an error message and why is it trying to re-index an
existing list? The listserv process does not start and jobs are starting to
pile up in the spool. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
