Greetings,

I have a problem. I am the coordinator of TeX-L, which is essentially
a redistribution of the ARPAnet list, TeXhax. TeX-L has ten peers, one
of which is here at TAMVM1. There is a problem with the list which I
do not believe involves Listserv, but I'm querying this list for advice
on how to find the *real* problem.

Malcolm Brown sends issues of TeXhax from [log in to unmask] They
come through a gateway at STANFORD. He sends a copy to TeX-L@MARIST, and
one directly to me at X230GV@TAMVM1 (so if something goes wrong with TeX-L,
I'll get the issue anyway and know that there's a problem).

I have not received either of the last two issues in any form (from TeX-L
or directly from TeXhax). Furthermore, I know that the peers at EB0UB011,
BNANDP11, FINHUTC, MARIST, UBVM, and DEARN *did* receive the issues. I
see no reason to believe that CLVM, DB0TUI11, and HEARN did not receive
them. But TAMVM1 did not. Incidentally, here is the peer topology:

*            CLVM    TAMVM1      FINHUTC
*               |    |           |
*  TeXhax ----> MARIST ----- EB0UB011 ----- BNANDP11
*               |                |
*            UBVM      HEARN --- DEARN --- DB0TUI11

The reason I do not believe it to be a Listserv problem is that I'm not
getting the direct mailing from Stanford either. But Malcolm is not getting
any rejection mail. And TeX-L@TAMVM1 is listed as a peer in [log in to unmask]

How do I find out what's happening? These files are apparently being lost
somewhere in between here and MARIST. This is especially bad since Malcolm
is preparing to forcibly move Bitnet-based subscribers to TeXhax over to
TeX-L to save gateway traffic. But we don't want to move them to a list
that's not working correctly.

Any help or advice, however slight, will be appreciated.

Kind regards,
Glenn Vanderburg
