Nathan -

That's exactly what we're talking about.  The OOOs sent to the list are
being filtered out.  But when the poster posts to the list, they are hit
with OOOs directly from other recipients.

There must be a way to fix this...

Yes, but that applies only to OOO sent to the list itself.  I think 
we're talking about OOO being sent directly back to the poster based 
on Reply-To: or From:, ie, OOO that never touches LISTSERV at all.
