LISTSERV 14.5
VMS 7.3-2 Alphaserver DS20E
Sorry to be such a problem child. Taking advice given yesterday, I changed my
local definition:
LOCAL "*.SLAC.STANFORD.EDU SLAC.STANFORD.EDU"
I also changed Send= Public to Send= Service for all these lists that are
supposed to behave the same way. (I think Send= Public would have meant that
everyone in the world can post if they can only see the list, which they can't;
Send= Service is meant to mean that only people with *.slac.stanford.edu and
slac.stanford.edu email addresses can post, whether they're subscribers or
not.)
and now this list - and apparently this list only - is telling would-be posters
at [log in to unmask] addresses that their messages are awaiting
moderation from user1 (who is on vacation today). Those posters happen to be
list subscribers.
I'm an owner, but I didn't get any message about mail waiting moderation. As
site owner, I could see the messages awaiting moderation and pick them out.
I still don't understand *why* they're getting moderated.
Here's the header, with the email addresses that aren't mine redacted.
Subscription= By_owner
Ack= No
Service= Local
Confidential= Service
Validate= No
Reply-to= Sender
Review= Service
Send= Service
Errors-To= Owner
Owner= [log in to unmask] (user name), [log in to unmask]
Owner= [log in to unmask]
Subject-Tag = M$ALL
Default-options= Subjecthdr
Notebook= No
(If I'm being dim, please excuse me. All this is happening while I'm home sick
with the flu.)
