    I'm afraid I'm  the source of this  disinformation.  After sending
that mail out, I had occasion  to look into LSVXMAIL and LSVADD again,
and  found that  what  I recalled  as  hex data  (a  general term  for
anything which isn't comprised  solely of printable EBCDIC characters)
is in  actuality just some mixed-case  stuff out at column  100 or so.
And Eric dropped me  a line to say that the  INSTALL FILE doesn't have
any hex data in it either.
