   That depends...  If the mail systems RETURNS the mail to the SENDER
as it should according to RFC822, then LISTSERV will detect the presence
of the original fields for the list and pass it to the "Errors-To" field
of that list.  For example, in the case of the list Bill owns, BIOMED-L,
this is the owner of the list.
 
   LISTSERV has several other mechanisms for trying to detect bounced
mail such as checking the subject, the current Sender: (for a daemon),
etc.  USUALLY these are effective.  However, mail software authors are
very creative and it is possible to send a very minimal message to the
list which might not be expected.  In this case it is sometimes possible
for the LISTSERV postmaster to block or trap that specific origin so future
messages will be stopped (ie. for postmaster@PSUVAX1 which sends almost
worthlessly incomplete error messages about UUCP gateway mail).
