You might ask them to forward the error message to you. In my
experience new list owners sometimes believe their messages have not
gone out because they got back a bounce for just one undeliverable
user...which is what "user unknown" sounds like to me.

I'm pretty sure we have sometimes had the Editor line filled in,
meaninglessly but harmlessly, on lists that were not "Send= Editor".
