You should never move the index files.  Let LISTSERV rebuild them on the new
system.  Frequently the directory structure changes and the old files paths will
no longer be valid.

I mean both the  listname.DB* files in the message archive directory and (if you
previously had WWW indexes) espcially the listname.INDYyymm files in the
~/archives/listname directory in the webserver directory tree.
None of these should be moved, not even if you are merely migrating the
installation from one machine to another on the same OS platform.
