You're running 8.9.3.  Good.  Latest is 8.11.4, but 8.9.3 is still OK.

Checking in your Sendmail logs (you DO Keep them, right?) for the string
'JAA11961' should reveal what address(es) it was sent to.

Hmm... a probable dialup that announces its hostname as smtp.  Funky. ;)

They however are running an old copy that's spammable/relayable.

But that's besides the point here - I don't think it was intentional spam.

And this is the offending line.  Listserv doesn't enjoy RFC822 'list;' syntax.

Hopefully your Sendmail logs recorded the 'RCPT TO:' values, which may give
you more insight on the who/why.  Let me know if you need more help...
