Setup Listserv's MYDOMAIN to use machine.domain.com as an alias.
Then under NODE, just use domain.com  Not sure of your setup but you
may have to change your MTA and DNS setup a bit.

This is no problem. After (or any time) you make any changes to the
DEFAULT.MAILTPL file, just make a copy of it and set it aside. Then if
you upgrade, just replace the new upgraded file with the saved one and
you're back in business.
