We were recently advised of a security vulnerability in the F-Secure Anti-Virus software. F-Secure has published a security advisory, <http://www.f-secure.com/en_EMEA/support/security-advisory/fsc-2010-1.html>FSC-2010-1, regarding this vulnerability.

The risk level is characterized as "Low."

The description is: "Malware inside specially crafted 7Z, GZIP, CAB or RAR archive files may remain undetected. The issue with 7Z archive files is corrected automatically in all affected products. Fixing the issue with other archive files may require manual installation of a fix on some systems."

For those running FSAV 8.x for Windows Workstations or Servers, if you have automatic updates enabled, the fix has already been slipstreamed to you and you do not need to do anything.

For those running FSLS 7.03 for Linux, you will need to apply F-Secure's hotfix located at ftp://ftp.f-secure.com/support/hotfix/fsav-linux/libfm.4.10.16130.tar.gz .
