What ever the solution that you use, just make sure
it is not worse than the problem it solves.  There
seem to be an innumerable methods of messing up
automated processes, or aggravating users.
 
As far as sending a negative message in the footers,
that can be couteracted by making your list the
best list anywhere with the quality of posts
submitted by your customers.
