The MAILBIT@VTBIT id is running LMAIL 1.1D. Some more info about this
combo:
We have a 3084 running HPO, and the following config:
VTVM2 VTBIT
LISTSERV (1.7F) LISTBIT (1.7f)
MAILER (R2.10) MAILBIT (Lmail 1.1d)
SMTP SMTPBIT
These are all on one physical machine, with VM2/BIT implemented via
judicious use of SYSTEM NETID. Also, MAILBIT has been told to loadshare
across SMTP/SMTPBIT, and SMTP@INTERBIT goes to SMTP. However, on the
Internet side, SMTP and SMTPBIT both claim to be on VTVM2.
I suspect but can't prove that the problem is caused by the "fuzzy" line
between VTBIT and VTVM2 (for instance, MAILBIT@VTBIT can spool to SMTP@VTBIT
but when the file gets there, it's on vtvm2.cc.vt.edu. Is this clear as mud?
(This will get cleared up in 6-8 weeks when we get another BTI ethernet
controller freed up and VTBIT will get its own IP address - this should
make things work a bit more neatly)...
