By george, I think he's got it. I think we can see from the whole ARPA
mess that some central location for ARPA list distribution would be
most beneficial to the users. But where would we put it? I would think
that Bitnic is a perfect choice, but from what has been said about
mail-via distribute, I am not sure that the 4361 would be able to do
anything except process mail. And also, remember that BITNIC will be
a 9600 baud line away from the rest of the world, and with all the
other stuff that's going to be coming out of there, I am not sure that
we want all the ARPA mailings also. But it is a very attractive idea.

By the way, I think we should also think of how this would benefit the
ARPA distributors. They would have but one location to know about. The
AILIST moderator was the one who told me about FINHUTC, after I accused
him of being the largest mailer from WISCVM. But he had no idea how LISTSERV
worked and no one had offerred to help him get his stuff straightened out
before.
