The Stranded File System stubbornly refuses to do anything with RECFM F
CARD LOADed files (and some attributes of RECFM V files are not set
properly either). After spending 1h30 discovering that almost every
important piece of CMS has been OCOed, I believe I finally understand
what needs to be done to make it work under CMS7 (the internals may or
may not be different under CMS6, the macros I saw certainly don't look
like something ASSEMBLE would approve of so I suspect this is new code).
The problem is that none of the ESA sites to which I have access are
using SFS (I wonder why), and I'd like to fix that thing before I forget
how. So, I am looking for a guest account with a SFS directory as A-disk
and decent telnet access from the NSF backbone. I need access to HASM and
enough disk space to assemble small things and CARD LOAD files of a
couple thousand card images. It would be great if I could have the
account that weekend. Thanks in advance, and remember: OCO is here
because OCO is good for you; if OCO were not here, you might forget 370
opcodes or, even worse, that studies have shown the sequence 90ECD00C to
be the best dump eyecatcher in the history of data processing.
