Don't worry, I have a bunch of these myself :-)

Depending on the mail headers generated by the list you are mirroring, I can't think of any reason why it shouldn't work as you have specified it. So I'd like to see the mail headers.

One thing we did remove, although I can't remember when exactly, is the ability to set up a mirror list as "Send= Private" and subscribe the original list to the mirror list with NOMAIL. This required special coding that kept getting in the way of other changes, and frankly it is a dangerous setup that probably shouldn't be used given the risk for instant mailing loops if someone were to decide to SET * MAIL after having inadvertently done SET * NOMAIL :-) But "Send= [log in to unmask]" should work fine.
