Phil, I think (I'm sure Eric will correct me if I'm wrong) you can set the
stats to NOACK yourself by telling the LISTSERV you're connected to SET
listname NOACK; of course, that only does it for you; and if you want to send
one MAIL with ACK and the next without, if it's a VALIDATE=ALL list you're
out of luck (because the listowner has to set it for you)
 When we're talking about MAIL or files, everyone always seems to agree that
"of course" ACK should never be a default (but should always be a requestable
option).
 Any chance of NOACK becoming the default for LISTSERV lists? (at set up time)
