I hope to find a host for my new list, Highway61-L with a digest option,
Highway61-Digest, both of which will reflect the Usenet newsgroup,
rec.music.dylan.

Bob Dylan is a major American songwriter. His works have influenced
society in ways we can only wonder at. When you open the morning
paper and see a column of news tidbits titled "My Back Pages,"
think of Bob Dylan. When you listen to almost any song lyric with
any sort of introspective or intellectual content, realize that
Bob Dylan paved the road.

From the time he was a shy, chubby cheeked 19 year old kid, to the
present mature 53 year old man - always "almost" smiling - his fans
have loved to gather to discuss his words and music.

Discussions range from analysis of lyrics, to "Never Ending Tour"
information, to assessing Dylan's impact on society. Reviews of
concerts are posted - within minutes of conclusion - by professional
and amateur critics alike.

Today, about 140 people subscribe to a private, mechanical digest
which reflects rec.music.dylan. I expect the majority of these
subscribers to continue to want to receive a digest, since most have
only level one connectivity. About 200 more people might sign on to the
new list and/or digest as they become publicized.

The usenet news group rec.music.dylan receives about 60 messages per day
on weekdays, and about 30 messages per day on weekends.

No one profits monetarily from this list.

I have asked in my immediate area for listserv space, and have not
had any success. I hope to hear from someone, perhaps another fan of
the master, who can provide a home for Highway61-L and Highway61-Digest,
and a small searchable archive.

Thank you.
