I guess I had not thought about this problem until now. I'm running
APACHE on OpenVMS and we don't use the wa.exe form in our confirms.

Perhaps some kind of 'rewrite' rule might help on other platforms?

Subject: Re: wa.exe triggers filter by provider

This is the default behavior now for most email systems I work with. And
most of our desktops are locked down to prevent *.exe execution from
browsers.

I think you would have to make a personal agreement with them. I imagine
we will run into the same problem at some point. The only way around it
that you can control would be to have posts and subscriptions confirmed
by someone internal to your organization.

Has anyone else run into this problem? It seems that their attempt to
protect their users results in filtering of Listserv confirmation
emails or any that contain wa.exe links.
How do I explain that these are ok even though others may not be?

I talked with a tech person today and we looked at the Spam Summary
that I sent to you. She stated this district won't allow executable
files in through email. The addresses that didn't come through all had
tr.wou.edu/cgi-bin/wa.exe at the end of them.
