I'm looking for a site to host a new list dedicated to jazz acoustic bass
players.
 
Topics that could be covered include: instrument purchase, prices, construction
and repair; amplification issues; practice regimes, books, and tips; discussion
of the great players, their techniques and recordings; reviews of new concerts,
books and recordings; etc.
 
The list would be a means for bassists of like ability to exchange ideas and
information, and also for beginners to learn from more experienced players.
 
By its nature, the list would be comparatively small and well-focussed. A casual
post to rec.music.bluenote and rec.music.makers.bass elicited 14 replies. My
ball-park estimate is that the subscriber count would top out at 100 or maybe
200.
